As a non-denominational minister and professional wedding officiant, I get called in to officiate in a lot of situations. I received a call this afternoon from a couple who needed a wedding officiant for their true elopement, and there's a real difference between an elopement and a full wedding ceremony. And it may just seem like semantics, but the truth is the Bride and Groom where jeans and a beanie to an elopement, and we do it after dark in a free park. The feelings and sentiments can be the same or similar, the outcome definitely is, but the rest? Not so much. Ha. Tonight I was the wedding officiant for a cute elopement in the middle of South Salt Lake with three family members, bluetooth music, and all sorts of cigarette smoke. And that's how we do it sometimes at OrangeBird.
