There are a lot of details that go into a wedding ceremony, from location to seating to flowers to fashion. Most grooms go a pretty traditional route, but as a non-denominational minister and professional wedding officiant, I've seen some amazing grooms with crushed red velvet suits to shoes with sequins and spikes. Today I was lucky enough to officiate for this great couple and the groom was rocking a light grey suit to offset his groomsmen's dark grey. And even though I never would have thought of that myself, it was a nice touch to a pretty standard wedding ceremony in front of 50 or so family members on the backyard deck of a home out West. As the wedding officiant my job is always to blend into the background, and in a lot of ways that's the groom's job too (I'm a traditionalist when it comes to wedding days, they should be whatever the bride wants), but a creative suit can be just the right touch for a groom to put his stamp on the wedding ceremony.
