Today I was given the opportunity to officiate the very traditional wedding of this gorgeous couple from Africa. And although my part in it was similar to how I would normally officiate a wedding, there was dancing and celebration and formality that were unique to many of my wedding ceremonies. The biggest difference, however, was the use of a real-time, live translator to make the service go smoothly for the non-native English speakers (as pictured below). This ministry has given me so many opportunities to meet new friends and experience new cultures that I don't know how I would have gotten any other way, and I'm so grateful to be part of it.
